This is a series of direct digital photographs and thus, they weren’t manipulated. Everything we see in them was already there when shot. Nothing was added but the black frame.
The essence of these photographs is the presence of multiple realities, shown through a glass-mirror that allows us to see through it, but also through its reflection. Thus we have two or three overlapped plans in a single image, as if in a graphic collage.
It is basically what Lee Friedlander said about his reflection series, making a flaw into virtue.
These collages are a game, a divertimento, but they are also a reflection on reality and the many different realities that surround us. Because things aren’t always as we see them, or as we think we see them…
